    All over car cover

    Hi peeps

Its time to take my summer baby off the road and put her into a cocoon over winter and the estate goes into use.

I can only afford outdoor storage and last year all the hard work i put into her paintwork was ruined buy leaves, birds snow etc.
This resulted in me having to start over and get the shine back.

So can anyone recommend a good insulated all over car cover please, as in covers down to the wheels? Found a couple of likely lads in fleabay but they look a bit 'made in china' for my liking basically just polythene like halfords ones! Useless, one gust and they tear!

    Cheers

I just got a Halfords one - it's my last attempt at a cover as the last 3 have blown away or ripped in the wind as you say

    http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car...ar-cover-large

Haven't put it on yet as it hasn't stopped raining for a while...

This is a reply from a good company that makes them to order:

    Dear Lee,
    Your Vehicle : Volvo V70R, 2004 (Estate)

    Thank you for your enquiry.
We have included quotes for the items you enquired about below:

You requested information on the Alpine, lightweight Outdoor Car Cover. Its high quality manufacture and practical nature make it a superb choice for someone wanting high levels of protection with ease of use and practicality all rolled in. The light composite fabric provides a very satisfactory fit whilst not involving the high level of tailoring and relative cost of a fully tailored cover.
A long lasting option for someone who wants true value for money. The Alpine is a high quality alternative to fabrics which look similar but are prone to premature failure.

Quotes for our Generic Outdoor Car Covers available for your vehicle:
    *Alpine* £125.00 Buy Now: http://tinyurl.com/4z2ftk/14716-68233

You also requested information on the Weathershield - Grey or Taupe, fully tailored Outdoor Car Cover in Grey or Taupe. Its unique fabric cannot be equalled. The protection will not fade or wear off. Compact and easy to use, it really is the premium choice amongst Outdoor Car Covers.
Individually tailored to an exact pattern for your car. A bespoke made to measure suit rather than an off the peg. Our best seller, the customer's first choice when looking for a Premium Car Cover. Your investment is protected by a 4 year Warranty.
If someone tells you their fabric is better….it’s NOT!!

For your convenience, I have included prices for all the Custom Outdoor Car Covers listed for your vehicle.

Quotes for our Custom Outdoor Car Covers available for your vehicle:
*Weathershield - Grey or Taupe* £453.00 Buy Now: http://tinyurl.com/4z2ftk/15775-68233

I use a 'stormforce' car cover for my 855. Quite expensive but fits very well and made to last. Lots of people sell the same product so worth shopping around. Here's one:

It was the 'Advanced' range mate, should be the same one as that link I posted.

Double check the dimensions though I doubt the 'L' would fit an estate. Useless info: fits an FD RX-7 quite well

From Wikipedia...my Legacy (gen 4 spec B saloon) dimensions:
    L 4665 mm
    W 1730 mm
    H 1440 mm

    P80 C70 cabriolet dimensions:
    L 4720 mm
    W 1820 mm
    H 1430 mm

Seems close enough to me fella although I've never tried it. My Commander in Chief of Car Covers (wor lass) said that the 'L' size wasn't a very tight fit on the Legacy. If you are anywhere near Sunderland you'd be welcome to try it on the car!! They do an XL also btw

When I used to cover the Capri, used to use a couple of ratchet straps wrapped all the way round under the car and into the wheel arches.
