Advice please on replacing the rear susp mounting bracket

Hi all, been a while since i have been on here, Lusty has been laid up since the Mot failure in 2014 only now have i the time and money to start on the refurb.

Can anyone advise on this as Haynes is not terribly helpful - I need to replace the pressed steel bracket that the rear arms mount to - it has bolts going through teh floor and has the big bush at the front of the rear "trainling" arm bolted through it.
I am hoping to do the job without removing the arims, springs suspension assembly - is this feasible or do I need to bite the bullet and drop it all off?

Hope this is clear - I have tried to attach a photo of the bit in question. (also answers the question of "why are you replacing it??") LOL

Helpful replies from anyone that has done their rear suspension will be most appreciated. Cheers in advance. Woz

I'm hoping to replace mine in place, just by dropping one side down a time, a small amount of heat may be necessary if there suborn, but I'm hoping the special tool I've made up will shift it with the axle still on the car, might even get around to doing it

So thats to replace the bush is it? I just need to replace the bracket - not planning to touch the bushes at this stage. (p.s new bracket cost Over £110 !! so never throw a good one away!!)

p.s. thanks for pics of the tool though - impressed I am.

Thanks, dry run work well and it pushed on side out cleanly with out too much effort, but the one pictured is that knackered that heat is required to assist the removal.

Which side is it you need mate, as there both still here, buried in a pile somewhere in the workshop.

Thanks for the offer bud, but I have the bits I need, what is putting me off is knowing whether I need to drop verything off the car, or if I can get away with undoing all the biolts, taking the bracket off and getting the new one in - somehow. i,.e disturbing as little as possible. I even bought new bolts from Volvo.

sadly Haynes dont seem to think that this is a part someone would want to just replace on its own. So I cannot find any useful reference, hence why I am asking teh REAL experts on here! LOL and you have been most helpful.

Can I ask, with yours why you droped the whole rear susp. out? Obviously doing the bushes ! and a full overhaul? Did it all go back in as one assembly?
    Cheers
    Woz
