Well wasn't looking forward to this job (again) but replaced all the coil springs with volvo OEM today. The car feels amazing now, like night and day, many thanks to Lee for the advise given, even had the ole girl in comfort for the first time in donkeys. Looking forward to completing the suspension refresh after noting this difference.

Got a misfire code in VIDA, so did the plugs and coil packs the other day. OE plugs and Bosch 0221604010 coil packs, all is well again.

He also did the angle gear/driveshaft seals too, seemed to think it may be where my angle gear leak was from, he did a lot in one long day, it was amazing to watch him, almost think he could do it all blindfolded.

Think he said he would have finished the job two hours quicker if it wasn't for me asking question and distracting him..... lol

I'll be getting mine done soon, Shimmed block, timing belt kit and WP. PCV is good as I only replaced that 20k ago.
Will be a good opportunity to finally sort out those pesky exhaust manifold head studs that keep coming loose.

He did my water pump too as I'd got a new one, but said it didn't need it, the old one it was in perfect working order @115k , couldn't feel any play in it.

The PCV looked OK, the hole in the front of the block was "clean as a whistle" he said. But better to change out though.

Thankfully, the block was in good shape, but showed a little distortion between cyl1 and cyl2 as the shim didn't tap in as easily as the rest.

Exhaust manifold was blowing on 4 cylinders

me too got the downpipe on this morning but unfortuantly didnt realise that I had the wrong nuts supplied from volvo, I have the older studs in the turbine flange with m8 lock nuts but, also didnt get a new o2 sensor as the front one seems easy enough to swap out, my wallet is hoping the old one lasts a few more miles yet
