Realistic numbers for mapping the 180 bhp d5 engine.

As title suggests, what are the bhp and torque increases that are to be gained from mapping the 185 d5 engine?
Is it the same for the v50 as the v70 and s80s?

Were you watching that V50 at weekend, Liam?

Did you not see when it was had by a boggo 850 TDi?

185 to 205 bhp and 295 to 332 lb/ft with Polestar. Aftermarket you should see more torque but little extra bhp. Just be careful on what the auto box can take on the max input torque. Aftermarket may also remove any torque limiters in first and second gears.

The Swedish written MTE software that I have been selling for many years now will give outputs of 225bhp with 480nm of torque for £395 including VAT.

You do not need to travel as you undertake the installation process yourself from taking an initial read-out from which MTE assemble a bespoke set of calibrations through to installing their finished work. You use their Softloader interface to connect an XP or XP compatible laptop to your car's OBD port. I loan that Softloader against a fully returnable deposit of £155.

You should find some feed back both here and at 't5d5' and on the VOC forums.

    Don.

PS same outputs for the P2 cars and the now discontinued D5s.... although they are quite different engines.

I must have missed your tdi run.....
    I've spotted a nice v50 d5 r-design and a 2007 s80 d5, just wondering if decent power can be had with just a re-map.

    Ah, fair enough.
    Still can't get over getting a 16.7!

Yeah, the D5s respond really well.
    S80 is a nice choice

They have a lot of kit on them and have incredibly comfy seats (often heated and cooled), which is something i want because of the decent amount of miles i do.

Ignore the colour, but check out the kit on this one (heated front and rear seats and a fridge)

Yeah, a lot of car for 5k.
This one also quite nice S80 D5
Although, i'd like to steer clear of any car with the 4C suspension.

I actually like that colour combination, immense amount of kit that would have been a nigh on 50k car new.
Arguing is pointless....she may not be right but she's never wrong

I know but it's £500 tax and, as i do 14-15k miles a year, may cost me a bit in fuel.

Think it was up your way, looks like it's no longer for sale though.
