An 8 row will in most cases lower your oil pressure by about 0.5 Bar. The standard in rad one works fine for road or track as long as the revs are kept under 7400RPM.

I plan on fitting mine down where the carbon canister is and use the fog light hole for airflow or a duct across from the side of the intercooler, as for the pipe internal diameter it's 3/8" as far as I'm aware.

Don't forget to check your oil pressure if fitting a cooler that will lower the pressure.

I use the fog light ducts for brake cooling so mounted mine in the middle

I had some pipes made up at a local Hydraulics place

then went 1 step further and removed to oil stat and housing.

Nice touch JT, hope you remembered to put the filter back before firing it up though...

    Just pulling your leg mate.

The oil filter goes in the standard position and would probably explain why it still works, unlike anything else on the car. lol

I removed my oil/water heat exchanger in favour of a mocal thermostatic plate and cooler up front of the intercooler (pictures in my project thread somewhere). As I have a oil cooled turbo the oil was getting very hot but now stays around 90-95* and my pressure has increased slightly (+0.1-0.2bar) rather than decrease.

    850 tdi - sorely missed.

I see, when you meant "remote oil filter" it is a bit like your remote front wheels... no longer attached to the car...lol

I understand that and i too was a little worried about placement up front, however after monitoring inlet temps pre and post i/c i found no difference with it fitted upfront. I can imagine that would be different after sitting in the staging lanes for a while though.

interesting to hear this, how much difference do you notice if the car is hot and stood for a while to when you start moving again and how quick does it drop Martin..?
