    Re-chroming

    Hi peeps

My other half was left a beautiful Jaguar her late father bought but only put a few thousand miles on, before he passed away suddenly. It has been sat in the garage for 14 years and never moved. All the paintwork is still immaculate, the leather interior immaculate ( i put silica gel inside in vast quantities) all the water was drained but damp has sadly ruined all the chrome.

In the old days chrome was like armour plating, sadly when that was built in 2000 chrome was then like bacfoil!

Basically the car looks and smells like new except for the brightwork which is in a sorry state and needs a complete strip, replating and rebuild.

Can anyone recommend one that doesnt cost the earth and thats not in outer Mongolia so I can drop off and collect the bumpers, grill etc? We plan to get her back in top nick and maybe use as a wedding car - basically a true 'time warp' classic.

    Many thanks

Possibly cheaper to buy replacements from specialist than to have it rechromed, just a thought.
    Which model Jaguar?

Re-chroming is not a cheap option, I looked to get a quote for some custom headlights I had in mind for my old v70r.
You might be best off trying to source replacement parts as sounds like the car will be lovely.
