    Back in the fold with a S60 D5 S

    Hi

After selling the V70R a couple of years ago I bought an '02 S60 D5 S today. I need a run about and the S60 fits the bill perfectly, replaceing a crappy Citreon C5 bought a couple of months ago for £400.00. If anyone wants it is is yours for a case of red wine from Aldi!

    So, for £800.00 I have:-

    and '02 manual S60 D5 S

    112000 miles on the clock.

MOT history good, pretty good service history.

It doesnt smell and is in pretty good condition.

4 unmatched ditch finders are fitted.

The steering wheel has a shine

    The air-conditioning is amazing.

Under bonnet very clean and looks well looked after.

I must say I am surprised by the performance. I suspect that during its life it has been chipped as there is no way it is producing 160bhp and associated torque.

    So any bad bits:-

there is a knocking in the rear suspension, need to have a look at that

    And my bugbear the Key.

It is a key and separate remote. Both knackered. Is there a kit available to integrate into one more modern looking key?

And there is only one key, what is the best solution to get a replacement. for best I obviously mean cheapest.

It is nice to be back!

    regards

    Well done Paul !

I'd say welcome back, but I bought my first Volvo ever only a couple of months ago after many years of, well, German insects and their descendants.

Now we have the correct number of cylinders, with turbonators, and I'm delighted with mine.

Hope you're chuffed with yours and it serves you well, but is it noisy at speed as I read somewhere ?

    Cheers
    Keith

Well today the S60 failed its MOT.

In August it had 112,000 miles on the clock, it is now at 128,163 so 16,000 miles in 6 months.

    The failure sheet:-

2 blown bulbs, checked them a couple of weeks ago but missed the number plate lights.

    one dodgy ball joint.

    Happy days!!
