    Boost gauge:D

Hi everyone, fitted my boost gauge this evening...

I dont think it looks to shabby, and also the vent still works! I connected it to the dimmer too

Quick question though... the car is completely standard but only pulls half a bar. Is this normal for a standard me7 t5? Or is it the fact that my gauge only cost £15 lol!

    Tidy looking job mate

I'm a little concerned that, although the engine isn't running, the gauge isn't showing zero..?

    Thanks mate

Ye i know what you mean, it seems to vac over -1bar when idling. Then only boost to 0.5bar with your foot down. What do they usually boost to as standard? I thought it was more like 0.7bar?

Half a bar is about 7psi I reckon so you're a little down, nothing an actuator tweak wouldn't help.

It should read zero with the engine off tho.

    Oops.. Typo.... I'll correct that.

Yeah, 7(ish) psi. Think 9 is standard, maybe 10 on later models.

You need to get a new gauge, as Martin pointed out, it should be resting on '0' with the engine off, not -4 bar!

If it's not reading '0' out the box then you can ignore any reading it gave you, when you drove it, as it will be incorrect.

    What's one of them?

    It's either mechanical or electronic!

Its one of the ones with this sender unit...

Seems to be alot better than the other bobbins that turned up last week anyway! Same manufacturer (dragon) but it looks and works better. And also can change the display to 7 different colours haha!

0.8 bar is pretty decent for stock boost (11.6 psi). Just cant wait to get all my go faster parts on it
