    Handbrake adjustment tips?

Last year I had a lot of problems getting the handbrake to hold. I replaced the shoes pads and discs, stripped all the adjusters and serviced them the only thing old is the cables. After having the wheels on and off several times and a refusal of MOT I FINALLY got the handbrake to a point they would pass the rolling road.

However this years MOT looms and again the handbrake is pulled right up and wont hold on a steep slope! I think I screwed the adjuster right up (under the centre console) so I dont think any more play there - do i need to replace the awfully routed cables.

is there a tip for getting these right please? Its due in August

If it's the C70, loosen the cable right off under then centre console, then take the rear discs off, adjust it up as much as you can, whilst still able to get the discs back on, then adjust up as necessary, up front again. If it's the V70, get these, and follow above:
