    Oil pressure gauges

    Hi guys
Sorry if this has already been covered but I'm finding search results to be mixed and a bit confusing. Basically I'd like to fit an oil pressure gauge to my 96 850 T5 and would really appreciate anyone's personal experiences and opinions on the set up they use, preferably with pictures and links to the parts used and how they were fitted/wired. I would like to keep the low oil pressure light as well as the gauge so I will need a T piece, again any recommendations would be brilliant

    Thanks!

Stack oil pressure gauge in bar. Comes with everything needed to install. A few people run a dual electronic pressure and temperature gauge which are quite smart but seem to remember they can be a bit tempermental.

Thanks Andy, did you keep the Volvo light as well? What adapter did you use in the block?

    Thanks buddy!

The adaptor comes in the box, plug'n'play. Yes you keep the standard oil pressure sensor and therefore the dash display.

Ok so it's in... Finally... What's the sort of values should I be looking for for pressure? Searching seems to throw up all sorts of values! I'm getting quite high cold readings around 90 psi at idle. Once hot idle is about 30 and 3-4K rpm goes into the 60-70 psi region

    Thanks!

Totally normal. Oil is thicker when cold, therefore, resistance to flow will be greater. As the oil warms up resistance decreases, as does pressure.

Thanks lee, completely agree and as long as my pressures are within normal (which I now believe they are) then I'm happy

    Thanks again
