    Fiat 500 Abarth

Had this little beast dropped off this evening to me to do my stuff getting it back to its former glory. Every inch of the paint work is rough to the touch.

Faded paint due to over zealous owner and a Brillo pad possibly as the paint has lost its shine and plenty of rub marks in the finish.

    And plenty of scratches

this scratch full length of passenger door.

I've got a few days to work my magic, so will be doing it over the coming evenings when I get home from work. Will update if people are interested.

Nice to see it progress over the next couple of days , at least the rim doesn't look like it's been curbed that's one good thing .

Bought a new top for my DI water polishing cylinder (old one was cracked) and some more DI resin. Do you have hard water where you live? Mine is rock hard at over 250ppm TDS. Water marks are a real headache...http://www.daqua.co.uk/

Yes mate, hard water. My wife's black Golf was a pain, but now I use one of these.

Wash the car down, connect this up and sprinkle water over the car before its dry and walk away, no streaks

Exhaust tips cleaned up with a power ball attached to a drill and R1ne metal polish used.

    Iron X doing its thing

Roof being cleaned and water proofed using Autoglym hood kit.

Today Snow foamed to remove cutting paste residue, then washed using Adams car shampoo and wooly wash mit. Rinsed off, dried then Zaino Polish applied with Da polisher. Adams Patriot wax then applied by hand. Topped off with Zaino Z8 sealant. Wheels sealed with Poorboys wheel sealant. Tyres dressed with Adams tyre seal. Inner Wheel arches dressed with Adams undercarriage spray. Plastics had Gtechniq trim seal applied.

    And the results

Well the owners very happy with it. Maybe the pictures don't do it justice. The paint was covered in tree sap and tar to the point it felt rough to the touch. Lots of swirl marks and scratches.

Usually I'd just stop after a wax, but I find on black cars Zaino Z8 just adds depth and a wetter look to the wax even though it only lasts a few weeks, it a no brainer for me as the results look amazing. Some people use it on its own after a polish, some polish, Z8 then wax.

It's sad really, they have owned the car since new, but don't really bother with a cleaning routine. The car is up for sale and sold with the understanding that they would have the car serviced at Fiat and have a proper detail to show how good or bad the paintwork condition is and pay accordingly. I can report the car was collected by the new owners for the full asking price.

What? That a dog pissing on your wheel doesn't count as the car having a wash?

I only wash the ones that aren't waterproof by hand, everything else goes through the car wash. 3 times a year like clockwork
