    Nebs on a P1.

So, yesterday I pulled the Nebs off the S80 and tried them on wifey's C70.
    No chance.

    Tyres hit the strut

Admittedly the tyres are quite huge - 235/45/18 and was hoping to use them as they're Michelin Primacy and ContiSports, but there's no way. Even tried a spacer.
Guess the profile is just too much.

Anyway, I'm guessing 225/40s are about my limit?

Wounded, had to put them back again. Must have looked a right numpty.
All this after swearing loudly at the workbus all day, changing the brakes in the pissing rain!

225/45/17 on the TDi with a 30mm drop and no rubbing (full lock excluded). Must be the extra inch that makes the difference.

Like many things in life, huh?!

Nah, no pics of the C70 with the Nebs on. Only got as far as one of the fronts.

Here's a pretty pic of one of my brake lines I ended up making.

The flare nuts shat themselves when I tried undoing the calipers, so had to dig out my flaring kit from my air conditioning days.

    Shiny new one fitted:

Not the pics you were hoping for!

    Anyway...
It was obvious straight away they weren't gonna fit as the tyre fouled the spring seat on the strut.

235/45 must be too wide and tall.
I have 225/40/18s on the fake Pegs on the S70 with no problems apart from little things like going around corners.

that job would have stalled most folks out there, good job you had the tools and the ability to fit it, nice job Steve.

as for the Nebs on the C70 would a nice set of coilovers overs solve the problem with the rubbing (although possibly a costly solution though) ????

That's made me wonder now if my 19" peg reps are going to fit C70 with the 235/35/19 Eagle F1's cleaned them up at the weekend but didn't get chance to try fitting them.

    Cheers, Ade.

Yeah, had to go and buy a coil of pipe and pack of flare nuts/nipples.
Nearly called it a day though with it lashing it down as well, but needed the workbus on the road for the next day as I had jobs booked in and a whole lot of weight to shift.
Possibly wouldn't have happened in the first place if I could have found my crow's foot spanners!

Yeah, not gonna put coilies on it.
Way too stiff for a ragtop imo, plus much dearer than a set of smaller tyres.

    Hmm...
    That WILL be close.
Only one way to find out!

    Edit:
Just done the calcs and a 235/35/19 is just over an inch smaller in diameter than a 235/45/18.
I reckon they'll bolt on alright.
235 is still too wide though really for a P1.

I'm quite surprised the Nebs wont fit as there area few cars on Sweedspeed that have them fitted, mind you it doesn't say if they are running coil overs to get the clearance, although some looked to be standard ride height.

Think it's the tyres more than anything.

235/45/18 is a big arsed tyre with a huge side wall.
Like I said earlier, they work out at around an inch bigger in diameter than your 19s with 235/35s.

If I went down to something like a 225/40 they'd fit no bother.
