    Sprung a leak!

After my last trip home to Torquay I noticed the water light came on, so I topped her up and drove locally. Again the light came on and I noticed water on the garage floor. Traced to the Expansion tank I only replaced last year? Is there a fault with these things?

    BUT

I spoke to a Volvo dealer who told me I have to 'update' the sensor?? I have fitted the new tank and pressure tested up to thermostat temp with no faults then a drive back to Reading BUT the water low light is STILL on? I stopped every 4th services or so and did a full check NO WATER LOSS??

Is this a sensor fault or have I broken the old one changing it to the new tank please?

When I changed my tank was told Volvo did update the sensor for the new tank so got one think it was £12 ish .

This tank was a couple of weeks old so the new type .

but the mounting clips broke off.

So had to fit a 2nd one.

They do recommend fitting a new cap if the cap has let fluid or pressure past the valve in the cap.

Yes Harvey sadly the mounting brackets are very brittle, either the power steering tank ones or the tank ones!

    Thanks for the info!
