    V70 P2 door speakers - crossovers?

I'm replacing my front speakers in my Ph2 V70 as the drivers side has been slowly getting worse over time. I've got a Vibe 6.5" component set that I've had kicking about in the garage for a few years, unused.

I need to know if the standard setup uses a separate crossover somewhere down-wind of the speakers or if that's taken care of at the speakers (I notice the Volvo tweeter has a capacitor mounted on it). Put another way, can I just mount my Vibe tweeter and midrange speakers in place of the Volvo speakers omitting the Vibe passive crossover? Or do I still need to run the Vibe crossover? If the latter, where in the loom do I need to take the speaker feed from, to go in to the crossover? I've not unpicked the loom to investigate yet.

Think I have an answer after some googling, but please feel free to chip in on this....

Looks like the mid-bass speaker takes a full signal, and the tweeter takes a full signal but the little capacitor on the side of the tweeter filters out the lower frequencies. These two speakers should be 8ohm rated and run in parallel off one 4ohm channel on the stock headunit (an HU-603). So my presumption is that I can just disconnect the tweeter cable and tie that up out of the way, then run the Vibe crossover from the cable that feeds the stock mid-bass speaker. Then from there run the Vibe crossover to the Vibe midbass and tweeter. The Vibe kit is 4ohm.

i was going to say the capacitor on the tweeter is a basic cross-over, but wasn't sure if the head-unit acts as an active also blocks frequencies depending on the channel

if as you say the factory run 2x 8ohm in parallel, then yes you can just use your 4ohm Vibe stuff instead as per there instructions
