My 87 740 estate has a cable clutch. It is currently a B230F engine car with 4 speed + overdrive manual box. I am putting a turbo engine in, with an M90 box. It appears this LHD 740 shell has an oblique, 2 bolt pattern blanking plate on the firewall where I would expect a clutch master cylinder to bolt up. But does anyone know what bore size the M90 box cars would have used for the clutch master cylinder, and whether the cable type clutch pedal is different to a hydraulic type? If the pedal is different, which I am pretty sure it will be, pushrod pivot hole apart, does anyone know if the hydraulic type pedal can be swapped into a cable type cradle, or is it more involved?

I ask about bore size as if I decide the gearbox is OK (used, unknown quantity as yet...) I will probably fit a concentric release bearing and bin the arm and pivot etcetera. With OE concentric mechanisms from the likes of Saab for not much money at all I tend to use them where possible, they just work so much nicer than a fork and pivot.

Thanks
