    Keyfob issues

Whenever I want to use my remote keyfob to lock/unlock the car, I have to press the buttons multiple times before the car locks/unlocks.

I've put new batteries into the keyfob and the issue is not affected by distance.

Anyone know what causes this, and how to fix it?

Had a similar problem with a radio transmitter, the buttons on the key fob operate small click effect push to make switches.
Inside the switch is a little plate, they can became distorted preventing contacts from closing.
The switches look similar to these:

Nice one dude, I'll try re-soldering the keyfob.

Any idea how much a replacement would be from the local stealer?

Just to add, replacement alarm fobs on the x70 series upwards have to be programmed to the car (unlike the 850 series where you can program them to the car yourself)

You could always get a used or new one and swap the chip over (depending on the size of the chip, I can't remember what it's like in the v70 fob)

On my V70's fob, one of the little plastic lugs has broken off that holds the battery in place correctly, so I have to put a piece of cardboard in to get a proper contact.

Have you tried the fob without the outer case on and checked that the battery is making a good contact?

Their only £0.18 each from Technobots, they'll send them by post.

Take the pcb out of the fob-case and check the function of each switch, and check the measurements of the switches in your fob, especially height against those given at Technobots.
