    Stored car running rough

    Just a quicky

I have now left my C70 in an open storage yard for 2 months and I strongly believe cars DO get jealous! All the time the P2 was off the road the C was purring like a Tiger. Intending to alternate them for the regular Devon to Berkshire run every week to keep mileages even, I went to get my previously PERFECT car. Arrived to a flat tyre, flat battery and once started running on maybe 4 pots????

I haven't changed the plugs in a while so could it just be winter damp getting in as she hasn't done a thing only sat in the yard? The engine light also came on so I turned her off quick.

The general opinion on here, seems to be stick with Bosch plugs, or are others superior? I know once shes used again it will all go back to smooth running - that taught me a lesson NOT to leave them so long between runs!

The C was just MOT'd so all was good

    cheers experts

I dunno bud, my 850 hadn't been started in 12 months (and been sat on the driveway for 2 years previously) and it fired up first time. And it was teased all the time as I parked the daily V70 T5 next to it

    The 'summer car' UPDATE

went to the storage yard to find the soft top in a very sorry state, 3 flat tyres and a dead battery

Previously I had a 'check engine' light come on and rough running. As she passed her MOT (thanks to Stribo coming up and helping out) she was running perfectly on the Torquay run UNTIL I stored her.

So today I replaced the plugs and after a jump from the estate, let her warm up and pumped up the tyres. The battery is obviously now useless as I turned the engine off after and hour and it was still below 12 volts!
Sounded smooth on idle so I took her for a run and immediately under acceleration the check engine light started flickering and she sounds like shes become a FOUR POT car !! A definite 'chuntering' under power???

As previous to storage she didnt have ONE FAULT and now new plugs so could I have a duff coil pack?? So is there a way to trace WHICH C.P is the duffer please??? Apart from rusty discs shes running fine apart from this misfire.

Just looked and Eurocarparts want £43 each for Coil packs???? !!!!!

    cheers

Thanks. It was misfiring with the old plugs and now with the new ones just the same leading me to think coils?
