    Bonnet flipped up.

Pulling onto the motorway this morning, my bonnet made a break for freedom. My own fault, unlatched it last night meaning to check something and forgot all about it.
Couldn't have happened in a worse place either, literally just joining a busy section of the M60!

Anyway, luckily my windscreen didn't take the hit, but my bonnet's kiffed along with the hinges.

Had a look when I got to work and it looks like the hinges are welded in to the body.
    Has anyone ever changed them??

    Oh, on the 850 btw.

yeh I would, it probably is possible with just the arch linings removed. But as your going to have to mess with the bonnet stay springs (which have ALOT of tension on them) i'd give yourself as much room as you can

You can undo it all from the top, without taking the wing off, but it's a right fiddle, I'm an expert at it

You can just see the three bolt holes in this pick, but look out for the spring

similar thing happened to a friends 306 Rallye. Nice 8V turbo in there, took off from a roundabout heading up the A9 and it popped up. Being french it smashed the windscreen, and the roof skin at the front although the bonnet was fine.

No, the bonnet stayed on, on this one, well just about, it ripped out the near side hinge and ended up by the drivers door
