    Dropped piston sleeve xc70

    Any ideas appreciated,
I have been getting low coolant message a lot and filling up, had it in garage for a new head gasket and told one of the piston sleeves had dropped 4 thousandths of a mill so pressurising the coolant system. head was put back and torqued down a bit more to try and compensate which worked for a while, however problem now back. I have tried steel seal as its supposed to cure this but to no avail, anybody got any thoughts. want to keep it going for about another year, xc70 2002 with only 218k on the clock, not even run in yet.

I'm not sure it's possible for a liner to drop on these engines, how often are you having to top up the coolant?

Is it a petrol or diesel?

The usual suspect is cracked liner if it's a petrol.

Eh I thought the sleeves were cast into the block

Is it possible that one of the liners has cracked?

    But a 2002 car would be a 2.4 engine .
