TRACS warning light + a bit misfirey at the top end 850R Auto

Just wondered if any of you have any ideas over this, Everything works but sometimes the TRACS light comes on...If I stop and turn the ignition off it goes off, doesn't always light up strange. Also, the other day giving it some stick I noticed a sort of misfire again not all the time towards the top end of the rev range and I seemed to have some white smoke at the same time...had another run fine again just now and again?
    Any help much appreciated

    Hmm...
Tracs light could just be crud on the hub rings.

I had a similar misfire on my S70, cured with new leads/dizzy cap and rotor arm. My coil was quite new though, could also be that.
    Does sound ignition related though.

For the misfire it's likely to be plugs and or dizzy and rotor arm, these are service items, plugs are 15k -20k miles I believe.

    Ah yes, forgot about plugs.

That would be my first port of call actually.

If the abs module hasn't been resoldered I'd send that off them see where that leaves you, could be the abs rings or sensors if they've never been touched. As for the miss fire, as above, ignition system - possibly a failing coil if the other items have been replaced already. Good luck, cheers, Morgan

I had a slight misfire on mine, quickly developed into a really bad misfire. just changed all the plugs, leads, cap and rotor and now it's spot on only cost about £60 to do all that.

Just echoing what's already been said

I shall do a plug swap..1st thing in the morning and only the first fire up I get a slight oily whiff and a puff of white smoke, I'm guessing oil stem seals? It only uses a little oil maybe I've put a pint or so in during the last 5000 miles. It's a giggle in damp conditions though....don't try to accelerate hard or we just get monumental wheel spin, it'll spin the wheels if I go hard from 60mph...excellent...eats front tyres mind.

As above the trace light will probably be down to corroded abs rings I had an auto 850 t5 a couple of years ago and the abs light was on and tracs light sometimes came on under hard acceleration didn't think any of it at the time but after I had my abs module repaired i replaced the rings at the same time for good measure (and mot) I never noticed the tracs light come on again so I'm guessing it was down to one or the other
