I know shem as he is in the unit next to my mate he's the reason I wanted a volvo, but apparently it's difficult to crack the new ecu''s if you haven't got the new fangled kit.

If they are uprated brakes they will be a bigger diameter.
I think yours will have 17's on so the 18's will be no problem.
That said if you wanted them and they did not fit over the brakes I would take them back.

The car is a dream to drive. Just a problem that it's a bit thirstier than anticipated but today's the day I get it in a rolling road and find out just how much the supposed 185hp car actually has

Good choice! I bought en ex plod D5 from expolicar.co.uk last year, an early 2009 model so still only the 185 single turbo. My budget couldnt stretch to the newer twin turbos!

Dont get your hopes up with the MPG, I get about 32-35mpg average. low 40's on a motorway run. While the Mrs P2 D5 hits 50mpg on a motorway!

Another think I noticed about the single turbo is that because it doesn't have the colour coded skirts and dual exit exhaust people tend to overlook it and think it's a older fella at the wheel pottering around whereas with me (23 yr's old) behind the wheel people don't expect it to take of as it does! Only problem is that if your pulling off sharpishly out of a junction/side road you don't have any power till you get to 2k rpm

Right so just had the v70 2.4l d5 185bhp on the the rolling road and apparently is producing 215 and 159 at flywheel. I tried to upload a pic but the website always seem's to fail. So and advice what can be done next to increase everything that isn't stupidly expensive? Or any general ideas to make car look better?

Don't understand your numbers - Do you mean 159 bhp at the wheels and 215 bhp calculated at the fly?
