finally made a purchase

Evening everyone,
Following a previous thread of mine I have finally purchased a volvo!!
Happy as Larry (whoever he is) I have myself a 2009 v70 with little over 128k on the clock. One thing I'm looking at changing is the standard 5 spoke volvo alloys as anyone had any experience with ex police cars as if I believe correctly the discs are bigger and more pronounced. If so does anyone know what sizes I need to be looking at?

Might save up and get a MTE remap as it's been mentioned that they are one if the best ones to get

Is it badged as a 2.4D or a D5?

I ask as they are different maps.

It's debadged in that respect. Insurance comes up with 185 brake. Although my girlfriend''s dad is a officer and as far as he's aware it's 'illegal' to sell on a police car with police remap in it.

They don't do a P3 T5 mate.. Although the 2.5t is the T5 from the C70 - sort of.
The T6 only comes in auto and costs a bloody bomb to own so really, the D5 is the best option.

Its been debated a lot in past but I thought police cars had a standard map on them, as far as I was aware and don't have a special map.

I've heard numerous reports. Does anyone know if the MTE upgrade is worth it and anywhere in UK that does them? Or another good remapping company as I wouldn't mind a little more power

I was looking at this car earlier in the week on their website and noticed that it was provisionally sold, so congrats to you. Are you from West Yorks?

Try Don at Kalmar Union he does MTE maps.

No mate I'm from Nottingham it's a bit of a trek to get it but think it's worth it.

Thanks I'll have a look on web but think it said it's based somewhere in Singapore??? And going to get it on a rolling road a week on Monday see what it's actually producing to put an end to the police modify the ecu and what not I know it should be producing 185 so we'll see

Don is based just off M25 I think, but he hires kit for loading map and you install it yourself

Not so sure you can do that on the ph3's. I think it may need a visit in the first place to decode the ecu.

Shark are close to you. Give them a call. Don't just look on their website.
