    Auto gearbox ??????

Just wondering if anyone has done an atf change on the box and if so how much atf you had to purchase to do said job as I'm finding it some what difficult to find the gearbox recommended amount and also its capacity
I'm sure there will be plenty in the torque converter but all I need is gearbox specifics please

Hi,my mechanic friend did one on mine when I first bought it and used 12 litres by the time he'd finished flushing it,so it was red in colour instead of filthy black.

I've read some people using 15/16 litres, so I guess it's down to however dirty yours is.

Easy job though, drain the atf into a large measuring jug so you can replace the exact amount you remove,I did 4 litres each time(important to be spot on I was told),then using a length of half inch hose, you can refill through the dipstick tube(not how I was told but it worked a treat 15,000 miles ago),then finally the gearbox oil counter needs to be reset with Vida so the eml light doesn't appear prematurely.

Says in here 3 litres for a fluid change, for P80 cars' 4-speed box

But more will be used for flushing as above. I used Carlube ATF-U in my S70 T5

It took 13L on my 4 speed box,all depends on how dirty it is.DX3 is suitable so not too expensive.
