That's got a hole in it, nearly as big as the one in your 480.

Speaking of which, didn't that come home a little worse for where?

Considering that things been thrashed a fair bit the paint work has resisted time & road rash very nicely!

Have you got this guy on a retainer yet Chris? Does he know how big the fleet is? You're either his best customer or his worst nightmare but he does do a cracking job!

What is the difference between paint correction and having a car machine polished?

Had my XC90 'machine polished' a month ago, the chap took all day... £180.....

    Don.
It's more or less the same thing Don. But there are different levels and stages of machine polishing to remove as much of the swirls and light scratches as possible.

And over and above the paint itself, the car has been fully detailed inside and out. It takes him 2-3 days in total. It cost's £400 including the interior and engine bay, and then I opted for a glass ceramic coating which should last 18 months or so, which is an additional £100. So afaik there is no need for anymore polishing/waxing until the glass coat needs doing again.

I did buy a DA polisher myself a little while ago, with the intention of having a go myself. But after looking into it I found you can only get reasonably good results with a DA. In order to get the best results you need to use a rotary, and with my lack experience and ham fisted approach I'd probably do more damage than good. Coupled with the fact that I don't really have the time to spare to do it properly for one car, let alone four, it just made sense to get a professional to do it for me. It's an extravagance, yes, but I am absolutely made up with the results he has achieved.

I think he's happy to have me as a customer! LOL! He's a really nice guy, very particular as well, he's gone way above and beyond in a few places on all of the cars. You couldn't want for anyone else to look after your car.

The accord has faired very well considering the amount of abuse it has had, but that's what it's for! To be fair, as much as it's been a track toy more than anything else, I have always looked after it with as much care and attention as I do the other cars.
