    Hi there again folks

just a quick one, what size of tyres and make are people running on these wheels, currently have 234/40/r18 can you put on a 225 without issues or better to stick to the 235?

    cheers

You could fit 225s, but why would you want to? We've stuck to 235/40/18s, but toying with the idea of spacers and 245/40/18s or 245/35/18s.

Do 235s not rub when on lock? 225's sound a more sensible size tbh

    I didn't have spacers And had 245/40/18s

They were listed with 225/40/18s in US iirc but I use 235/40/18s when putting tyres on.

I assumed they were going on the Saffy....for a P2 V70R then 235s are spot on

I guessed they were going on a P2, as it's in the P2 section, but yes, 235s would be to wide for a P1 V70R.

Down to tyre choice I guess it depends how much you use it.
Summer tyres or a good all weather one's or winters.
As you do get it colder than us down south.

yeah, i bought a set of winter/snow tyres 2 years ago and since then i have had no snow up here...sods law but not complaining. i have 345's on just now with no rubbing so i will just go with that tyre size.probably a half decent set of all weather ones.

I run 235s on my P2 V70R, and have to say the type of tyre compound is more important than the contact surface, when I bought the car, you could spin the wheels in 3rd they were so hard, and in the end I had to change all 4 for new grippier ones just to keep it glued to the road, now runs great.
I have noticed that with my car on full lock they just touch on one side of the inner plastic trim, but as you are only travelling slow it is not a problem.
Good luck with the choices available, and the budget you will need.

Assuming P2, 235/40 18 Vredestein Ultrac Vorti are very good.
