Easy way is to buy a memory saver box that most auto stores should have, just clips on your terminals and when you disconnect battery it keeps enough in it to save codes etc. If you are a cheapskate tho just connect a cuppla jump leads to it from another car or a booster pack ...change batteries and viola!!!
Your local Volvo dealer will be able to supply the radio code (mine did it over the phone - but they know the car & me).
That's assuming it is the original radio.
Failing that, jump a spare 12V battery onto the connectors before disconnecting.

We take the "be polite" rule very seriously!
Round here its £20 to get it unlocked, plus they give you the code.
Takes a day or two if you can live without stereo
