RAF COSFORD - Museum Meet & Tour - Sunday 27th Sept

    VOLVOS ARE RETURNING TO COSFORD

    SUNDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER

Possibly one of The Best meets of 2014 sees Volvo returning to the RAF Museum at Cosford – only this time we’re expecting up to 150 Volvos from VolvoTuning, C30 Crew UK, Volvo Enthusiasts Club, VOC & VPCUK with valued support from the ‘Volvo Powered’ RSUK Club.

There is no admittance fee.....it's free. The only charge is £3.50 per car to park in the car park.

The museum itself is home to a large array of aircraft from all eras of flight, what's more its mostly indoors so regardless of the September weather we'll be nice and dry inside.

Once inside it's admittance all areas, there is a Costa Coffee Shop and Restaurant for those wanting a Sunday Roast dinner and as a premier attraction its very family friendly with lots to keep younger and more fidgety visitors happy....

    The big attractions are:

    1) The cold war exhibit that has all three Big British V Bombers....if you've not seen these before or up close they are huge aircraft and all the fast interceptor jets like the AVRO Lightning's are here and are all suspended from the roof allowing you to walk under and over them.

    2) The older World War 2 aircraft are also present, Spitfires, Hurricanes, US Mustangs and a Lancaster Bomber as well as some German aircraft including the Dornier 17 which was recently pulled up from the bottom of the English Channel and is being restored.

    3) Hanger 1 contains the aero engines, everything from the piston driven Merlin to a huge modern day Rolls Royce Trent Jet engine which powers the Airbus A380. Most of these are cut away so if the guys are into their engineering, which being on here on this site we know they are, then this Hanger is a must see.

As for the agenda.....it's currently suggested:

    10:30 - 11:00 Arrive at RAF Cosford.
11:15 - 11.30 Social catch up, general banter & piss take - Group photos
    11:30 - 14:00 Tour Museum
14:00 - 14:30 Further photo opportunity Cars and Planes

Already looking like a popular meet - we are again looking at a dedicated carpark with a selection of aircraft in the background making for some good photo opportunities

In addition our distinguished judges will be walking the field on the day awarding trophies to some of the best and unique cars.

As per last year, Demon Dents will be on hand to repair those annoying and small parking and door dents, always a popular service this so book in at the VT event tent early and Paul and Steve will be on hand to demo some great car cleaning and detailing tricks.

The meeting is free to attend with entry into the world class Cold War museum.

For those of you who saw the Vulcan fly at the Throckmorton meeting this year, at Cosford there is another opportunity to see a Vulcan up close and personal along with her sister ships that made up the V Force.

It's a great day, food and Sunday lunch is available and the food is reasonably priced and of good standard. Cosford is family and wheelchair friendly with the only fist bring your £3.50 per car, per day parking fee...ticket on the screen on the day.

Keep tuned for more news but please support the meetings and get these dates into your diaries.

A few photos from last years Superb Meet:

    Hope to See you there....

I will try to make this - it's a bit of a hike from Durham (about 200 miles), and I'll be attending two events the weekend before, but it looks a great location for a meet

Plus my dad is a bit of a plane spotter so maybe I can drag him & the bairn along
