    ME7 ECU recoding

    Hi All,

    After spending all this week trying to get my car back on the road,replacing coils and injectors, it now turns out that the ecu has let go.

    So I've located one and it will be with me tomorrow.

    I know that the information has to be swapped from mine to the replacement unit for it to work, and a friend of a friend who runs a local tuning company says he'll do it for me, however, I've just been told that he can't do it without Vida, is this right?

    I know he's done the same on other performance cars but he won't have Volvo specific software, so if this is true it's gonna delay my car being mobile again but at least I can arrange accordingly

    Cheers

    Emailed Shark last night explaining the situation, waiting for reply

    Ecu at sorting office so I know that I at least have a replacement

    Only one I could find with exact same serial number and it was from an auto, all the manual ones had different last 3 digits, so do they differ slightly?

    Cheers for being on the end of the phone all week mate, appreciated (-;

    Well that was the exact phrase my tuning guy used, so maybe I'll run it by him first, just in case my lucks about to change lol!

    Cheers guys, my mate in St Albans was able to sort my ecu, albeit after a long while and as a Brucey Bonus (c'mon, your all old enough to remember that lol) I chucked him a few quid extra and got a remap (-;

    Well chuffed, motor back on the road and quicker than ever, at least I feel now I got something for the time and money!
