Not for a t5 but I did for a Clio Williams once which went horribly wrong. Personally I would avoid and get it done by somebody who does it for you for not much more money like..... Well I prefer not to say I case I upset anybody
Just...... No!
854 T5 - The new project.
850 tdi - sorely missed.
I'd want a lot information on it than it gives in the ebay ad and as the old saying goes "if it seems too cheap to be true, it probably is"

No,No and No Mighty Car Mods did a myth busters on these things and had them analysed at best it will be a resistor built into a chip that will reduce the signal strength of some readings there for providing the ecu with false readings to counteract its safety cut off mechanisms built into the ecu at worst it could cause damage to your ecu or other components, save the money and get a proper map later down the line.
Wee chav went past me this morning revving his crapped out Civic 1.4 for no good reason. You could see the fumes from the exhaust and the air was thick with it for a good minute after. First thing I thought was "that'll be an eBay resistor mod then".
EDIT: Apologies that this has very little to do with the question :

I have the same chip. I've bought it on eBay. With modifications I got 317hp and 489nm on it. Everything works perfect. I'm satisfied.
Any chance of a list of modifications & a dyno print out?
