    My 850 T5 Estate with 215k Miles..

    Hi all,

This is a bit of an introduction as I have had my T5 for a few months now and wanted to document some progress. I have been fairly poor with taking photos so far though as I've been concentrating on getting jobs done!

These are the pics from the Ad - the headlines were 215k miles, RICA 304 map and race spec options such as no sunroof or 7 seats!

The car was originally leased so I assume used as a company car, as such by 1999 it had done 90k and in 2004 130k! I have loads of paperwork and I expect the maintenance tailed off slightly until the last owner bought it when it received the map, stage 0 and dump valve that you can see in the photo.

Although the mileage is high, the bodywork is pretty good (bonnet is scuffed on the front, bumpers need attention and the top of the tailgate is rusty for some reason) the interior is pretty good as it has mainly seen motorway use - surprisingly with little evidence of kids, dogs or use as a van! The seats just need a bit of attention..

This is the day I viewed the car..

And home in storage (already being pulled apart!)

I have a fairly long list of plans for the car, which I am trying to knock off whilst its in storage for a few months. These include the usual v70 rear lights, R front bumper, removing the roof rails, new steering wheel, tidy the leather, paint the black trim (bumpers, doors etc), strut brace, replace missing fog light, 302's, pero wheels etc etc. It also needs a cambelt and water pump.

So far I have fitted the V70 lights and repeaters, wooden steering wheel, v70 non-rail roof trims, genuine strut brace, removed the dump valve, removed the headlight wipers and smoothed the trims ready for paint with an R bumper which I also got hold of. (None of which I have photos of!)

I'll keep this thread updated with progress, but for now that's it!

    Cheers

Very nice Max, nice to see one in a proper colour

Infact our first Volvo was a blue on blue 850, for some perverse reason I love blue or red leather

Thanks to a good friend I now have a freshly painted R front bumper, headlight trims that I smoothed and also re-painted mirror caps as they were scuffed!

My scratched (and very dusty!) bonnet looks even more of a mess now. You can also see that I painted the bumper top with some trim paint.

Thanks, the M135i is leased and is going back (early) in a few months. The 850 is its replacement, ish.

This wife has this, but I'm tempted to get a matching pair again and get a V50 D5 or 2.0 TDCi

Not yet no, as it hasn't been out of the garage for a while and the interior needs a clean

Taxed & Insured, The M135i went back on Monday so I've just driven it home.

MOT and checkover on the 17th, cambelt, waterpump, de-cat and exhaust being fitted on the 20th - then it will be in use.

Still looking for a rear bumper too, ignore the one on it!

    Cheers, its certainly getting there.

Ordered £300 worth of bits from FRF including the cambelt/waterpump parts, bumper brackets and loads of random bits.

Also got a new battery on the way as the one on the car doesn't seem to be holding charge and I'd rather a new one for winter as it wont be in daily use.

A couple of pics form Goodwood at the weekend, I gatecrashed a 'Bahn Stormers' Sunday Service

Then today a game of spot the difference..

A genuine RIP kit I noticed the pipes are actually bigger which is nice (I was mainly doing it for asthetics!)

Next on the list is an oil, filter, air and fuel filter change.
