    The Flying Moose - Project 855 T5-R (Attempt 2!)

Time for a quick project log.

Purchased 3rd of July from Hemihusky Black 855 T5-R.

After a good look around the car is a testament to its previous ownership, the interior is one of the best I have seen in any 850. Externally there are a few grazes here and there, light damage to the lower front splitter and both wings could do with replacement due to small rust bubbles but neither are so bad as need immediate replacement and alloys need a refurb.

Stacks of history, alot of the work is already done thanks to Husky so no cambelt and only minor parts on the stage 0 as ignition components are all done, just vacuum hoses to change.

    Plans?

Tidy up the bodywork, refurbish the alloys... aside from that I'd like to fit a larger turbo probably a 19T but might stick with a 16T, larger injectors, strut brace, 3" Throttle, map and when money permits some juicy brakes up front.

Luckily its comes with some nice bits too, BSR Exhaust cat-back which has a lovely burble but not intrusive, Koni Yellow Adjustables, IPD Air intake Kit and polly lower gearbox and top mount bushes.

    Day 1 - Pickup

    Day 2 - It begins!

Well first day down just a two minor modification replaced washer jets with ME7 V70 chunky jets and changed the grill for a black painted one.

Other than that removed the 850 side stripes and gave it a good was and polish.

I fitted the chunky v70 roof rails to mine, but I'll keep an eye out for washer jets

Should be s good project similar to the olive I'm doing I have most of your shopping list so far just too busy to fit.

Body work looks good I saw it at the Dyno day at hamishes

Thanks TC, I bet it reminds you of yours mate... cant imagine how tempted you were and selfish as it is glad you didn't have the money as I know you'd have snapped her up.

You have no idea bud.. The first time I saw it I insisted that he had to give me first refusal when he sold it, shame that his selling it came a lot sooner than I thought it would. If I'd not just put a new engine in mine I would probably have sold it and bought this instead.

    Day 4

So it seems the suspension top mount has gone on the nearside so that needs replacing very soon.

New shoes all round today after the Falkens were showing some serious signs of wear on the inner edges and down the markers... Michelin Pilot Sport 3's all round in the correct size 205/45/17 replacing the 215/45/17 Falkens.

TBH, rubbing issues aside, I've always thought that 205s are too narrow for a 225 plus BHP car that weighs about 1.4 tonnes, my 130BHP 1.2 tonne Mondeo Si had them, and they were about right.

Mines (gul) lowered on b6s and lesjford springs running 215/45/17s due to fitting the 320s I have no rubbing issues as discs are 3-4mm wider, so all worked out well
