Cool Shiny Swede - A quick detail today.

Gave the car a bath today and gave it a go over with a glaze. PoorBoys Black Hole applied with a DA and soft pad.

Just off to see if I can get Eddie Stobart to bring a transporter full down so you can do all mine.

Actually, where's our resident artic driver?

    Jimbob?!

Seriously though, it looks stunning as always, Dave.

I just wish I had the time and skill/patience to get mine anywhere near that!

Always a cracking looking car, but you've managed to go a stage further still. Must do my Nautic as they do come up so nicely.

Now that is shiny with a capital SH , it looks like it is made of dark blue Mercury. Can you manage a trip to Glasgow with your duster ?

Looks lovely, but I suggest you put some wax on top, otherwise as soon as it rains, the glaze won't last long.

that shine is just getting deeper and deeper, super work but as Mike mentioned get some wax on to seal in the shine you've build and make it last. Meg's dark wax is my current wax for the olive, which seems to work well for me

    Cheers chaps

Annoyingly it rained this morning and the car is filthy again, typical

I'm in the habit of not washing it too often lately as living in Hereford it simply doesn't last, I applied the glaze over my previous efforts just for an experiment. Ran out of time to seal it in, at this time of year I only have about 3-4 hours of shade over the car.

In April I went over it with Sonus SFX 4 kit, it didn't do as much good as I had hoped, going to try something more aggressive next for some proper paint correction.

Just wondering Davey, does your car have a lacquer coat? Both of mine are metallic paint finishes and it is difficult to make much impression on the finish. My T5 is that weird colour that Volvo describe as green but it really looks more like a light metallic blue, the C70 is that deep cherry/burgundy colour and it comes up a lot better . What do you suggest for lacquer ?

Best thing to do if polishing alone doesn't bring it back up to scratch (warning label here you must know what your doing) is wet sand with 2000 or higher.
The way I do it with the cars I've done in the past that needed it
    Wash car
    Clay car
2000 wet and dry on a flexible block
    G3 on rotor polisher
    Then fine cutting comping
    Polish
And finally wax to seal and protect for future including uv protection.
I've just done this on the silver s70 and the results were amazing but you have to be careful the pros use a device to see how thick the lacquer is and if it's safe to sand.
The general idea of it is to sand away the weathered and tarnished top layer of the lacquer to reveal fresh and also this helps eliminate orange peel thus giving a better reflection.

Colour sanding - I don't think I'm brave enough for that although that would certainly improve things no end!

The boot lid of my C70 deffo needs something like this , the lacquer surface is shagged out, too much bird crap , I might try a discreet area first in case I make a complete ££££££ of it.
