    headunit querie

I've just tried to fit a new single din headunit, I've got the facia kit to take it and the correct wiring adapter but when I hook it all up im not getting any sound. I notice there's an amplifier cable for the original unit but my new one doesn't have that short of socket to take it. Is there something I need to rewire?

Cant remember on the 850, it's either under where the head unit goes (behind the dash) as it is on my V70 or its under the drivers seat.
