    wiper/washer problems

    Hi all
Pulled back on the wiper stalk to wash wipe windows and can't turn them off . Washer bottle pump and wipers won't stop.
Took the switch off the steering colum unplugged it and the wipers stop but washer pump keeps going. Anyone got any ideas

Broken switch or maybe even wiper relay would be my guess (but that wouldn't explain the washer motor), relevant fuse out may allow you to reassemble with new switch and everything stopped, providing it's not shared with other critical things. I bought an 850 wiper switch for £6 delivered off Ebay, they're pretty cheap.

That's what I was thinking. Will have a look on ebay for a switch.
Any idea where the relay is

The relay is tucked away in the top right corner of the dash, if you do a search on here there is a thread that describes how to get to it through the footwell, tight squeeze though apparently and requires child like hands/arms.

I'd try the wiper stalk first, plus what more knowledgable folk like JT above say

Not quite, it happened to Jeremy Clarkson's 940 on too gear, he smashed a headlight, and the headlight wiper motor, and his windscreen wipers and washers wouldn't turn off.

I think I will remove them, may even gain a few extra horses with the weight reduction and less drag lol.
    Thanks everyone for your help
