    ECU Compatibility

    Can anyone nelp.......... ??

Would this ECU be compatible wiith a manual 850r, 1996 model.
The ECU pictured is a Shemtek map and was used in a 1997 V70 T5 manual transmission i believe.
Do i need to check my ECU number too against this ??

Any help or advice much appreciated..................http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ps9nt1yfvr.jpg

    Some info here

...which seems to say it might work, but some effort may be required to get the AC functional. Plus the map is not made for your car so I wouldn't run it hard without checking AFRs (could say this about any generic map)

Motronic 4.4 will work on an 850 (motronic 4.3) but the 448 ecu pictured is the immobilised version so possibly won't work on your car. You'd need to program the ecu with the 608 non immobiliser map from the link Jamesy provided but then you'd lose the Shemtek map.

Map will be pritty spot on like most of the shelf maps and the hardware in the car is the same as the 850r, whites 16t straight flange.

I'm just wary of one-size-fits-all maps. If the OP had put a larger turbo on the car, or even just a larger MAF to turbo pipe, then the map would not be suited to the set up.

Value of an 850R in good nick = 3k?...cost of a decent map = not much compared to value of car & it is quite important to get right..!!

I understand what your saying and your right that with any map you should check the afr's but with changing hardware on a car after a map you should get the map tweeked to suit or run the risk of messing engine/car up.
