Something for the sun - C70 Convertible in Black

It has been 9 years since I bought a Volvo entirely for myself.

This 2004 popped up on the trader earlier this week so I snapped it up for 1500 quid (a full grand under book price)

Needs a clean and a service. Has a FSH, 2 litre engine, autobox, facelift mods (clear headlights etc) and a dale winton interior.

It has only done 11K in the last 3 years (93K in total) - so needs some TLC (I have most of the bits in the shed).

It's not a T5 but TBH I have enough umph when the SSB works. So this is for wafting along.

I will post more pics - once it is properly cleansed.

If I can find the ITG panel filter I probably use that for the service. Alloys are tatty but I have a set of refurbed comets already - just need to swap the wheels.

Needs lowering. Looks very nice, how do you find the scuttle shake? I thought the cabbie we had felt quite err wobbly.

I didnt feel anything. What I might do is take the bilstein/eibach from the SSB and put them on the ragtop, when I fit the coilovers - but I am worried this might make it too harsh.

Shouldn't do, as the flex in the body should help soften it.

That interior is mental! Nice car, just hope the British summer doesn't scupper the roof down driving experience

    Looks lovely

Remember all the commotion when AcidicDavey had that interior in the one he was robbing bits off to sell on?

    2.0 auto though...
Holy crap, I bet that's painful. What does the ragtop weigh in at? Gotta be well over a ton and a half!
They map to just north of 200bhp though even with the standard teeny-tiny turbo

    Them seats are lovely
The ones in mine were a little different being a collection model.

I'd say black is probably the best colour for the cabs imo.

They drive fine on a smooth road (of course) but drive it on a broken road, i.e. a British road! and the shake is unbelievable!

Nice cruiser though, you don't need a convertible to be fast, the fun of a convertible is in having a convertible

Scuttle is pronounced when the roof is down - but I love it too. Really not that arsed about the smaller engine.

Exactly. I am more bothered about pimping the ICE. I think I need to get a woofer behind the back seats.

I've got a pair of the dynaudio subwoofers that go behind the back seat of a convertible, if you're interested.

You don't want a convertible to be too fast anyhow, you have to drive slowly enough to let da Beehatches see the prize.
