    Yet Another SRS Question

As thread title, I'm looking for some pointers as to where to look to try and find the problem. Purchased my P2 V70 as a bit of a project as I was aware the SRS light was on and also a few little jobs I could do. Unfortunately the electrical side of things isn't my strong point so looking for some direction to look to try and find where the possible 'open circuit' that VIDA points to as the possible source.

Would I be right in saying the fault is intermittent as its yellow on the fault status and the current operation cycle is green where as the previous operation cycle is red? I've tried clearing the codes with VIDA but the return straight away.

The fault will return straight away if it hasn't been fixed. From what I can tell it looks like either the plug under your drivers seat is at fault, or one of the connections associated with the rear right passenger seat. Have you tried disconnecting them and cleaning them? Sometimes it just needs a bit of a wiggle. Even blowing on the connection and refitting it is sometimes enough to fix it. The codes will need clearing after but it's worth a try. Just make sure the key is out of the ignition before pulling plugs. Alternatively disconnect your battery negative lead.

Thanks for your reply, got a better look last night and it's clear that the fault is something to do with the wiring leading to the rear right/middle seat. When removing the right side bolster I should be seeing a plug connecting the seat belt tensioners to the loom...now for whatever reason in the past this has been cut off and new wires re soldered in its place :/

As you can see in the pictures the standard cabling is orange, but instead of a connection there is those blue and brown cables been soldered in its place.

Unfortunately I bought the car without history so have no idea why this has been done, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
