    Rear shocks top mounts issues

I've got an annoying knock from one of the rear shocks.
The shocks are not sloppy, and seem firm enough, but is knocking some what!
Would it be more likely to be the top mount at fault, or the shock absorber?
Anyone had 1st experience of this?

Probably top mounts, they split cause an annoying knocking noise.

    Cheap and easy fix.

The noise is almost like a metallic squeak, like the exhaust is loose, but that's been checked. The top mounts it is then!!!

Well, turned out to be the front engine mount, broken. Strange eh!
