Playing devils advocate here. If you guys hadn't done all the work, the house would be up for £10000 less.

Maybe, but makes no difference to me glad I helped to add value in a small way.

I was thinking that. The last selling price of the house was 206k in 2009, so work done between then and now has added a fair bit over & above average house price increase.

If Dave works in oil & gas, now is a bad time to be getting a bigger mortgage, hope he is downsizing...!!

Mind you I hear 250k is pocket change for you southerners...

Prices down South are just stupid. We have a very small 3 bedroom detached house, small back garden etc and that's £300,000 now.

That means I'll get an invite then

Dave's been a bit quiet recently, would have thought he'd have stuck his head in and given us a heads up.
Suppose that's what happens though when you have 186 kids.

His house though, so I suppose it's up to him if/when he decides to sell up.

I very much doubt that there was any malicious intent (it's not in Wobbley's nature).

Touches to the above, Dave is one of the nicest creatures I know and has regularly gone out his way for others. Whats a couple of days work grafting amongst mates with a few beers anyhow?

That aside, Dave's house is lovely. Really like the lounge, that would be 400k in Norfolk...

Exactly, although the weather was crap, it was a good laugh, meeting up with some mates, to help another mate out, would do it again tomorrow.

We're lucky down here, where I was born 300k pays for a decent 2 bed flat (private estate) quite a lot go much higher than that.

We stole our gaff and it's gone up over £75k in 3 years, we moved here for school catchment, but once the children are in secondary school we'll most likely buy somewhere bigger.

From what I've read prices only seem to be going up and quite a lot of us my be priced out so now might be time to strike whilst you can it's a big commitment buying a place and if it's the right time for Dave, it's the right time for Dave has to do what best for him and family.
