crew on site had a go, evident by the dry power in the beginning of the video clip but without access into the engine bay it was not effective, bulkhead seems to have taken a while to breach, just too far out in the sticks for the fire crew to save unfortunately, feel for the owners as I was half way up the hillclimb watching them drive about the field before they parked up, around about the time Neal arrived, as we were watching the field as the hill was stopped as the HA Viva van had just exited the track though a fence. A bit of and exciting morning you could say......for a few wrong reasons

Wonder if by driving around they picked up some grass and it caught?

LOL that did cross my mind, was thinking it could have dried out. Anyway, thinking more about it, I don't think it would have picked up the grass near the back of the engine by driving forward.

Was painful to watch - it seemed like people were just standing laughing. Easy to say with hindsight but next time someone pls bust a window & open the bonnet..!

    Bad times
Looked a nice example too, I even like the wheels.
Have to agree though, a busted window could have saved it.

    Nice Capri there, also.

Good idea that, I was considering the same for my Renault due to proximity of filler neck and exhaust..!

Yes mate, but I guess it is easy for me to criticize after the event. Just commenting on what I saw...

Thinking about it though - after a thrashing on a track day I park up & open the bonnet. Not for fear of hot turbos igniting an oil leak, but just to let things cool before the next run.

It would appear that one of the reasons RRG had to move from Prescott to Shelsley walsh was because of me......WTF.

"The last year we were at Prescott we had 600 cars in the show field and it was bursting at the seams... this year at Shelsley we had ~1,000. Also Bugatti Owners Club own Prescott and decided to take back some of the weekends to run their own things again, they may have changed this again though as there was some discussion around it. Additionally people seem to be unable to not drive like idiots through the local villages, which made our event unpopular locally (thanks I think mainly to claymore drifting round a roundabout in the nearest town from the reports we had). We very much enjoyed being at Prescott, the venue was nice, people good to deal with and it was smaller. If the volume of people that turned up at this or last years gathering arrived at Prescott though it would be a bit of a different story, the "club" area would take over all the internal space in the venue outside of the paddock, the management of which would cause delays and traffic jams... the retro parking would be in a steep (very bumpy) field next to the venue and not really part of the show, the day parking would be over the road, which would also mean moving the camping further away, making the whole thing even more difficult to run well."

your spirited fly-by of campsite (clearance denied Maverick) may be it....lol, but drifting ?????, we may have to consider your invites to the next Mid-Wales and Shrops meets very carefully after hearing these reports of your driving...!!!!!! .....hearing completed and you'll be the first we invite....
