    Burst V70 TDI top radiator hose replacement.

    Dear All,

    Today, I noticed some ominous steam emanating from the bonnet of my R reg V70 TDI. Having sorted a few things on the car this past week, it was with a heavy heart that I lifted the bonnet.

    I noticed the top radiator hose to the left hand side of the radiator is perished at both ends and spraying fine jets of coolant into the engine bay. I suspect it has reached this state due to recently being removed and refitted by a garage whilst putting on a new alternator. The jubilee clips are brand new and done up approximately as tight as ££££ which only compounds the problem.

    In my searching, I am yet to find a TDI specific top hose, simply turbo and non turbo ones.

    Do the turbo top radiator hoses fit the TDI also?

    Thanks in advance for the help. If you can provide part numbers and prices, I would be most obliged.

    F

    I got one from a Volvo dealer, not very expensive.

    There's a drain plug on the passenger side of the radiator you can use that to drain enough coolant out to swap the hose over. Or do a full flush & change while you are in there.

    Can you re-position the clips to stop the leak in the short term? Maybe cut the damaged ends of the hose off unless it becomes too short.

    //edit

    you can get them below but I would confirm it fits the diesels before ordering

    James,

    Your thoughts broadly echoed mine. Sadly the hose looks a little too fragile and 'far gone' to trim or reposition.

    Will check availability on Tuesday as MRG is only down the road.

    Thanks,

    F

    9161826 is the part number I need.

    Partsforvolvosonline.com don't stock it. Skandix do. Hoping MRG can get me it quickly.
