    I F****d up!

So, I got a big carried away and changed the key fob case. (This type)
    http://www.ebay.com/bhp/volvo-flip-key

.... And smashed the transponder essentially stopping me from starting the car.
The key fob is perfectly usable as is the key itself.

All I need is a transponder replacement and it coded to the car. Preferably before Friday at the end of this week.

I'm located in Portsmouth, Hampshire so can anyone recommend a person or company who can sort me out here as cheaply as possible.
I can fit the transponder back into the fob so all I need is a new chip and have it coded on my drive.

I'm avoiding Volvo at this stage....

Sorry to say volvo main dealer only,no choice.

The flip bit with the key blade comes pre cut when you order it,the dealer won't cut keys they order them from Volvo, when volvo supply it it comes with a barcode they use to program it to the car via the Volvo server.they will need 3 bits of ID V5,your name address which matches the V5 info, then photo ID.
That is what I had to give to get them to supply a key for my car.

I am afraid it will have to be a volvo dealer job only..... Unless if you can find a complete lockset from another T4 and swap the lot. It will work out a lot cheaper than getting a new key from the stealers

That's terrible. Bmw do the same thing, but fortunately now there is an alternative. I got my plastic valey key converted into the proper key casing, coded to the car all for £50 when BMW want £250. Maybe if his Volvo has a similar key, it could be used and a key specialist with Volvo software could sort it out?

I don't need it putting into the key or anything.

Btw this is on the V70 T5 2004.

Only had the one key with my car, broke the only transponder.
The key and fob can still unlock the car thankfully. It just comes up with the message car failed to start. Doesn't help when you break the actual glass containment to the chip... Sigh

I think not 100% sure some key locksmiths can clone the chips ,but if you don't have a working one I think you only have one choice.
    tow the car to Volvo.
