It was either my driveway or the autobahn one of the two!

    Brief update....changed oil & filter. OE filter & 10W/40 semi-sythetic.

Drove the car to a place with a couple of lifts that can be rented by the hour - 4 post(er) was in use, two post doesn't like my car as it's too low.....car is also too low for a pair of ramps there.

So, used the volvo supplied jack (& an axle stand of course for back up), laying on the cold floor within sight of expensive lifting equipment. I used to do all work on my cars in the street without the proper equipment - seems that I am destined forever to crappy scissor jacks.

About time for an update, after the weekend of adventures...nitrous kit added last month

Dash switch - position 'I' is for the radiator fan, postion 'II' is fan + nitrous

Nitrous & fuel solenoid visible in the photo, microswitch on the throttle wheel & connection to fuel rail (via Schrader valve) hidden under the plastic cover.

Injection nozzle into elbow just before throttle body - notice the nitrous inlet is behind the fuel inlet for better mixing/atomisation, & the nozzle is twisted at 45 degrees for the same reason....don't want cylinder 5 getting any more than cylinder 1..!

Previously I've used a boost switch, to activate the nitrous above (or below) a certain boost pressure. But tbh the map for the car is not aggressive so I didn't bother with one. Note to self: never ever try for WOT in 5th gear at 40/50 mph...!

    You nutter!

Interesting to see another S70R thread though. I think I'm going back to the OEM with mine now apart from a few subtle mods.

How does the NOS feel then?

I didn't think it made much difference...until I took it the bottle off for school run duties! Definitely makes a difference - 1st & 2nd gear not possible to got WOT without losing traction, 3rd gear pretty good up to about 105 mph at 7000 rpm...and that is about as far as I've got. Needs more road

The jets are 40 nitrous and 100 fuel (WON sizes) - which equals about +50 hp in theory

In the queue for scrutineering...for those unfamilar with this strange practice, that is where a man pulls at your battery & says strange things like 'show me your bottle'...just humour him, he will go away eventually

We always keep our race numbers on our cars for a few weeks after a strip meet, 1 because we're too lazy to wash them off, and 2, because it's a talking point, though mainly, people assume we've just got the car from an auction. Lol

See you caught the Shark having some weight reduction surgery there

Was a cracking day, I counted up and found I'd managed 10 runs myself, didn't seem like it.

Louise is also driving around with the number on, it'll come off eventually

Off the line you were leaving me behind, Adrian, I'll post a video when I sort them out...something I need to work on - gearing and traction....I can't think of a different way to do it than a M56 box with 3.77 final drive & proper LSD. That would let me get up to about 110-115 in 3rd over the line, although traction is more important

None of our cars will be ever finished
