I'll have to check this out next rotation.

From inside though this time, I've seen the underneath

Even with a standard grill..? With a black badge...

Changed the plugs from Volvo ones to Champion coppers that I was salivating about a few posts ago. Gaps set at 0.7 mm. For any Doubters, the car did not misfire, fail to boost or explode immediately on starting with my cheapo plugs. Yet..

Looking at the old plugs they are exactly the colour that those mad charts tell you that they should be, which to me means the map is a good one after the thrashing it got yesterday. I'd like to say the old ones look a little hot but that is probably in my mind...the Champions are a grade cooler.

There were some bits of crap where the plugs/HT leads sit, so I had the maid spruce it up a little with the hoover:

    Pmsl!
That's the maddest hoover I've ever seen!!

Yeah, won't bother me what grille is on it, or whether it's got the right coloured badge, while I'm trying my best to get those APs to fade.

Yeah did I not tell you about my invisible maid? Every home should have one!

I might regret saying this but those APs are un-fadeable. That might not be a word but I tried very hard! Checked the fluid every so often throughout the day & it never felt particularly hot.

Speaking of which, for anyone who missed the Croft trackday tomfoolery, here is a link to the thread:

As posted on the meeting thread...visited the Swedish day yesterday - a bit of an epic journey at 700 mile round trip..! Managed just under 34 mpg which was pretty good I thought. I spent 2 hours on a motorbike today which was much less comfortable than all those miles in the S70

Called into see a Roman fort on the way there (Vinovia/Binchester), this is the bairn on a real Roman excercise yard, which I thought was pretty cool.

Many Saabs there at Haselbury Mill & some nice volvos. We stayed at the mill & it was very posh. Great location. This is the view from our room, arse end of my car just visible on the right.

As can be seen I found another grill.

On the way back up to Durham I called in to see Acidic Davey for the crystal lights from his C70 cabby. I haven't fitted them yet so no pictures..just now I am trying to work out which bulbs to put in them, based on this:

    http://www.which.co.uk/cars/driving/...adlight-bulbs/

Which says to me that: Bosch Pure Light for dipped and Halfords for main beam should do the job almost as well as what I have in now. Stupidly I got H7's for both the dipped and main, when they are HB3's for the main on 2005 cabbies.

Good move on getting crystals, I'd have done that if a set had presented.

I have a pair of genuine headlight protectors here if you want them. I should have given you them anyway but I forgot.

cheers! Looks like yours you mean - lurvly!! Koni FSDs were on the car mate, B6's were an improvement but tbh the FSDs had seen some action and might have been past their best.

The track day was really great, having a BTCC driver sat in with me for a good few wet laps was really useful. I've got loads of videos too but my IT expert is on her hols

    I'll send you a PM.

Have you looked into those SJ4000's? Basically a knock-off Gopro, I've seen multiple reviews and they can easily match the entry and above level GoPro's.
Would be great to have both our car's on the same track! Although your's is far better set up for a track than mine in terms on chassis.

Replied mate, in the negative sorry. FSD's have already been donated!

I'm using a Nextbase 402G camera. I found the GoPros to be a bit clumsy to use in a car - to me they are set up for short action sequences, whereas the Nextbase (& other dash cams) can do rolling recording, give G-force, mapping & speed, etc i.e. are more set up for car use.

C70 lights are finally on! Bosch Pure Light H7's for the dipped and Halfords 9005 HB3 for the main...

    Dumb question alert...

Why do people blank out their reg numbers in photos?
I mean, you drive about in public, showing it off to all and sundry anyway...
