Not really any major reason fella, just the iridium/platinum etc seem to be for longevity rather than any sort of performance benefit, and I'm not really into this long life way of thinking like with the long-life oils. I'd rather use coppers for a couple of quid each and change them more regularly.

Was doing some history checks on another car, and checked out the R....surprising number of plate changes over the years! I prefer keeping original reg number as it is part of the history of the car:

Colour change from 'orange' to 'gold' recorded. Also a valuation over 34k new..ouch

It's a laugh isn't it, we put big value on our cars - they can be had for buttons but quality work to get them back in good nick + modified costs a fortune.

For the same money I paid for this car I could get nowhere near the same condition...in any colour...if I started with a 500 quid ebay special. In fact it puts to shame much more expensive cars due to the work done.

Blowing my own trumpet a bit now...

If you do mind me asking , were did you get the reg history info James and the valuation figures obviously don't take into account the rarity of your car

On the site below mate, 20 quid for 4 requests. I was looking at something else & had a search spare

    https://www.mycarcheck.com/

Yes understood about the value, of course I disagree with it ....doesn't account for below average mileage or all the nice bits Yosser has put on either!

forgot to add - oil cooler hose clips have been cable tied on, also to prevent popping off.

    Pmsl!!

I've got quite a big head too. (Insert innuendo here)

Was a good craic. That S70 is lovely, or at least would be after a wash!

Combined mileage something like 450k right there, Folks

Good luck at Croft Matey. Hope we torqued everything up properly.
    Oh wait...

    Nice.

I'll be interested to hear how it rides now, I imagine it'll be an improvement.

Good call on securing the plugs on the vac tree. Blown a few of them off in the past, although mainly because the ££££ty ard map was overboosting.

    Enjoy Croft.

Thanks fella, the ride is improved a little and more control under acceleration too. Maybe the FSDs were just getting past their best although a rear strut brace went on with the suspension so hard to make a fair comparison.

The car has been hammering around Croft now for a couple of hours in the pissing rain & has never missed a beat. No holding back, only span it once (no harm done). I had Adam Morgan sat in with me just now for 30 mins showing which line to use in the wet...brilliant day so far!
