Ey up brakes have just arrived....

    Attachment 30056

    Attachment 30057

V50 calipers, carriers + DVS adaptor weighing in at at approx 6.5 kg per side

The calipers are huge I thought they were XC90 items at first but were tagged with the correct part number & stamped FoMoCo
They are good but won't be as good as your 4 pots, I drive mine back to back and the 4 pots have a better pedal as well, it's just inherent design flaw with single pistons, they clamp less and have smaller pads.

But still a good improvement over the rubbish 302s

Tig the bracket once it's been bolted up.

    Looking good.

    Why tig the bracket, Steve?

For sure they won't be as good as an 1800 quid kit, but I would like to know are they good enough for what I get up to...and if they are cheaper to run/maintain. The 302s on my T5 (in Steve Sideways' signature above) seemed OK me. Not fantastic but did alright around Harewood & on the road.

I'm very interested in this kit.

As we know James, I am the destoyer of brakes. Managed to fade the brakes to nothing on the S70 and the T6.

Do us a favour J, PM me some links to the various bits?
Too lazy to search them out and they'll be saved for me then.

My tig welded 320 will only fit 850s now but that's not a bad thing.

I think it's cost me about £400 all in for the 4 pots front and rear on the olive, the rear brakes are a really good upgrade.

I have xc90 rear brake calliper brackets for the 850 as well.

Agreed, those bags around the discs have to be worth a few grammes also.

Not good...I haven't tried fitting the parts on yet but was recommended him by someone who ran a Vectra touring car with AP brakes set up...he used them for skimming the discs

I forgot to mention a small job I did...replacing the a bulb behind the speedo, meaning I needed to take the top part of the dash off...

Something behind the glove box there that needs further investigation, some kind of aftermarket amplifier?? Very small though

Looks scary. No idea about the amp thing btw.

Too late now but I always fancied taking the dash top off and getting it flocked.
