P1 V70 passenger door will not unlock

Hi,

My sister owns a P1 '99 V70 and the other morning the passenger door decided to not unlock. We tried manually unlocking with the pin and with a key etc but nothing seems to open it. She had an issue with the interior lights staying on so her boy friend had to remove the bulbs.

Any idea's? As there is no apparent way to even remove the door card to get to anything to check!
