    V70 T5 2001 re-map

Only had the T5 for a few weeks but it feels like it's lacking something....don't get me wrong it goes really well but i like more get up & go for the daily B road commute (the need for quick point & squirt over taking etc...)
Martin has checked the car over & it's ripe for more power......but i do want to keep it looking standard....
Living down south we have a lack of local companies that offer a Volvo re-map..
I've found Formula Cars in Somerset, they're Volvo specialist & offer Rica maps for £360 inc VAT - anyone heard of these guys before..??
    Or any other "local" ideas...??

    Thanks

I would ensure you do a 'Stage 0' and check that your PCV is clear before you remap.

    Remaps ALWAYS expose weak points.

Also, if you can afford a little more money then there are better remaps with more output...ie, BSR, MTE.

I can offer you MTE's Swedish written software that will give you outputs of 275bhp with 430nm of torque for £395 including VAT.

You do not have to travel at all to get this in your car as you install MTE's software using their unique Softloader device as an interface between your car's OBD port and an XP equipped laptop. I loan that Softloader against a fully returnable deposit of £155.

Please contact me if you are interested, I would suggest that you search both here and at www.t5d5.org for what is thought of myself, the MTE product and my competitors.......

    Don.

PS I also have MTE's stage 2 and 3 calibrations for your car and stock of the Swedish made stainless exhaust systems that are needed to make stage 2 and above outputs.
MTE performance software, Ferrita stainless exhausts, TME stainless exhausts, AP heavy duty clutch kits, KU single mass flywheels and LSDs. 01494 785508. email don@kalmar-union.com

Make sure you change/check the TCV, coil packs, plugs, PCV hoses, check the one way valves, check for leaks etc, it's an old car now

    Best of luck

As much as I rate Formula Cars having had RICA and now MTE on my D5 the MTE tune wins hands down. MTE is far more driveable delivering more reward for reving it as opposed to a bucket of wheel spin and little 'up top'. Also RICA support was a bloody disgrace, i.e. there was none; none from their head office in Holland or from the two 'dealers' I contacted with anoher dealer saying they'd given up on them through lack of support. Steve and Tim at Formula Cars may have a decent relationship with them but I haven't been back down there for years as it's too far away, Bristol to Taunton.

They will only give you support for the first year, after that, you gotta pay for it! Same as BSR.

well i'm not looking for a bucket of wheelspin just a more responsive drive....
I was warned this would open a can of worms...
With Mrs Cooke's Mk5 Golf Gti i went to a local garage, had it mapped & now it goes like stink - no drama no fuss.....
If MTE is what's recommended to get the best/most suitable results i will follow the advise.....

    Thanks....
