    Lowering Springs

Has anyone had experience with these? Lesjofors Sports Lowering Springs (40mm) I'm looking to lower my 2005 V70 I have 19" peg reps on the car so wasn't sure if they would rub with car lowered as most spring sets only seem to lower V70 by 30mm, any feed back or recommendations would be much appreciated.
My intention is to lower car but use standard shockers as I quite like the ride and don't want to make it too hard as car is only road use and no track work.

    Cheers in advance Paul

That's a tough question mate. I know of the springs your talking about and yes, you're right, most do not go lower than 30mm.

IMHO, If you're already running 19's then I'm assuming you dropped from a 35 profile to a 30? If not, you'll definitely rub the arches.

You can of course remove your blue steering stops and replace them with R models stops, which are Black. They are much thicker and will help at the cost of a worse turning circle.
You will also definitely need to fit spacers....at least 10mm on the front and of course 10mm on the rear to keep the track the same.

Without spacers you'll definitely rub 100% guarantee it!

When my R was lowered 30mm, I had to fit 10mm spacers, new black stops and metal protector plates. It would then only rub on the metal protector plate if I was on hard full lock. Back off 1/16 of a turn and the rubbing stopped.

You won't be able to drop it 40mm without spacers and black steering stops.

Think tyres are 235x35 19's from memory, not too bothered about rubbing on full lock as mine have always done that even with standard 17" (wheels on wheel arch liner), it is my intention to get some spacers too to rectify this and help the overall look, I was thinking more on rear arches when loaded up.
I seem to remember some time ago springs being discussed and it was said certain manufacturers would rattle your fillings out so to speak, but when I looked through the threads I couldn't find the one I was thinking of.

What mileage have your dampers done?

I only ask because from experience even slightly tired dampers will bottom out with lower springs.
Especially with something like a 35 or 30 series tyre.

256K, so I'm replacing dampers at same time, but with new standard ones

They surely can't have possibly done that much! Any shock has a life expectancy of about 80k, so new shock will definitely transform the ride.

It's ex plod so everything done to it was listed in history that came with it right down to bulb replacement. No mention of any shockers though. It was a traffic car on m6 according to history

All ex plod are serviced on spec as per maintenance schedule. Your shocks won't be the original ones.

Might have a re think on spring manufacturer then in that case, as it defiantly needs lowering.
