Exhaust too noisy at low revs. Any advice welcome

I've put a 2.5 jetex system on my 850R. It has one silencer up front and nothing on the back. It's married to a 3" downpipe with sports cat.

There's no motorway drone, and once you get up above 2000 RPM everything is good. It's just a little embarrassing around town. Between about 1300rpm and 1900rpm it becomes REALLY resonant and loud. I wondered if adding one of these at the back might help:

Forgotten what the thing looks like! Tuning taking a little longer than expected. Gonna be a belter when it's back though.

How long was the rear box? I got my system second hand and didn't have the back box; I need to order one, but I want to keep the genuine Volvo DTM pipes I got.

No worry, but thanks for the offer. I had a good measure up today, going to go for an oval silencer, try and counter the roar of the 3" downpipe a little.

Yeah there's almost no drone, just annoyingly noisy around 1300 - 2000 revs, which really is when you least want it to be noisy. It's got that nasty sound like a kev'd up 1ltr Polo. I recon chucking a back-box back on will help, I wonder if the stuffing has come out of the middle silencer

Like you say, nice and noisy on boost which is good :-)

In my experience with barry exhausts in the past, all the really loud low RPM issues was due to it blowing slightly somewhere, When I had saxslow, we fitted a decat and eventually a backbox making it straight through and we test drove, droney as hell at low rpm but absolutely nothing when booting it. Realized the bolts had a few more thread to turn pressing the gasket in place and that sorted it right out.

I've put a back box on and it's quieter now. Still peaks around 2000rpm, but I'd say it's about right for a 3"dp and 2.5" cat back. Nevertheless, I will definitely check all the bolts.
